Happy World Health Day!

As public health professionals, we celebrate World Health Day on April 7th. The World Health Organization announced that this year’s theme “Together for health. Stand with science”, which calls us all to celebrate the power of scientific collaboration to protect the health of people, animals, plants, and the planet.

We asked some KDHRC staffers what small daily habits help them prioritize their health:

“Aim for a walk everyday!” – Morgan, Senior Account Manager

“Try to find a few minutes to just be still and calm!” – Ginger, Executive Administrator

“Everything in moderation.” – Natalie, Research & Communications Assistant

“Limit sweets (otherwise I’d be big as a house because I have zero self-control around cookies!)” – Joseph, Accounting Manager

“Eat at least two servings of vegetables every day” – Alyssa, Research Associate

When it comes to health, we should rely on evidence-based methods to improve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The World Health Organization encourages us to ensure we’re getting health information from sources rooted in science. These sources should follow evidence, update as science evolves, and exist solely to protect yourself. The World Health Organization is one such reliable source of information.

Happy World Health Day from your public health friends at KDHRC!
