AVOID Scientific Panel on Youth Vaping

KDHRC had the pleasure of hosting the AVOID Scientific Panel on Youth Vaping. On December fifth, we invited members of the Atlanta community who work with youth to join us at the Friendly Human studio to engage in discussion with experts on topics of prevention and tobacco control. Dr. Scott Weaver from Georgia State University shared his research on youth vaping in Georgia. Dr. Weaver is a prevention scientist and quantitative methodologist with over a decade of experience conducting research on topics spanning tobacco control and regulatory science as well as substance use and risky youth behaviors.
KDHRC president, Kristen Holtz, shared relevant topics about youth vaping and the importance of community prevention efforts, and offered insight into the evidence base of AVOID. Our media partner, Friendly Human, gave an inside look at the AVOID online dashboard and showcased just how easy the AVOID platform is to use.

We were thrilled to host such an informative event in Atlanta and thankful to everyone who helped make the night a success. We look forward to other opportunities to showcase our programs and offer educational resources to community members.
