May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Did you know May is Mental Health Awareness Month? We can use this time to make changes to better prioritize our mental health and check in with loved ones in our community. Mental Health America reports that nearly 1 in 5 American adults have a diagnosable mental health condition in any given year, and 46% of Americans will meet the criteria for a diagnosable metal health condition sometime in their life. Transparency is crucial when it comes to mental health: it’s imperative to talk openly about mental health with your loved ones and provide support as needed.

Most importantly, remember that asking for help is a sign of strength. While it is Mental Health Awareness Month, mental health deserves our awareness every day because mental health IS health.
