Traveling focus groups for the Maryland Department of Health’s Center for Tobacco Prevention and Control

In collaboration with the Maryland Department of Health’s (MDH) Center for Tobacco Prevention and Control (CTPC), KDHRC seeks to better understand statewide trends in vapes and tobacco use among youth and young adults in Maryland. As a part of this effort, we conducted focus groups across the state of Maryland in late-September 2019. The focus groups assessed trends in vaping, including knowledge and attitudes about vaping, receptivity to new and existing vape prevention resources and campaigns, and awareness of Maryland’s new state law, “T21,” which raises the sales age for vaping and tobacco product purchases.

We gathered the numbers from our traveling focus groups in Maryland. As you can see, we go to great lengths (and travel great distances) for our research!
