KDHRC Staffers Attend NACDD Showcase

On February 7 and 8 2024, KDHRC had the privilege of attending the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors’ (NACDD) Open House and Annual Public Health Program Success Showcase.

At the Open House, KDHRC was able to reconnect with many NACDD staff and consultants and see NACDD’s impressive new headquarters in Decatur, Georgia. The next day, KDHRC attended NACDD’s Showcase at the Westin hotel in Buckhead, Atlanta and learned about all the impressive work that NACDD does across the country to promote health and health equity. The Showcase was also an opportunity for NACDD and KDHRC to share exciting updates and next steps for The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Oral Health (DOH) Medical-Dental Integration project.

The Medical-Dental-Integration project, currently in programmatic year 4, aims to identify areas of opportunity for medical-dental integration and promote oral health equity and care coordination. In the current stage of the project, KDHRC is supporting NACDD and CDC DOH to develop a structure that activates and engages diverse partners to promote medical-dental integration. In tandem, CDC DOH is developing a branded initiative to promote these efforts.
