Teen tobacco prevention campaign, The Real Cost, saves more than $31 billion in smoking-related costs.

A report from RTI states that since its launch in 2014, FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products’ (CTP) campaign, The Real Cost, has saved billions in smoking-related costs including medical care, early death, and lower productivity.  KDHRC has served as a scientific subcontractor on the campaign since late 2014.  Last year, a separate evaluation of the campaign found that the first two years of the campaign prevented nearly 350,000 teens from initiating smoking.
