Ciara graduated from the University of Georgia College of Public Health with a B.S. and M.P.H. in Health Promotion and Behavior. During graduate school, she worked as an intern providing diabetes education and community outreach at St. Mary’s hospital and was a research assistant for the Social Technologies & Risk Reduction lab identifying innovative methods and technologies that can be used to support behavior change and enhance health in areas of mental health, substance use, reproductive health, and sexual risk. After graduation, Ciara was excited to join the KDHRC team to use and grow her public health research skills and to work with like-minded, passionate people.
Ciara’s favorite part of her job is working as a team member on a variety of projects. Each day at KDHRC brings opportunities to learn new skills with diverse tasks and topics. Ciara dives in on opportunities to lead project tasks including conducting systematic literature reviews, analyzing qualitative research from surveys and focus groups, and working with clients to creatively develop campaign materials, informative websites, and educational videos.
In Ciara’s free time, she enjoys exploring fun-walkable areas in Atlanta with her dog Piper. She is looking forward to trying new restaurants and seeing live music now that she is vaccinated.
