Shelley Caplan joined KDH Research & Communication as a Senior Director of Corporate Marketing & Communications in November of 2020.
Her three decades of professional experience includes developing and leading award-winning health communications and behavior change campaigns and initiatives for NIH institutes, the CDC, and other HHS agencies on issues such as hepatitis, substance abuse and teens, the opioid epidemic, tobacco, medical errors, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, teen pregnancy, and youth homelessness. She also led Corporate Communications & Marketing and managed the Creative Services department in her previous job, a firm with 350 employees across two offices.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland with a minor in Psychology. She has worked for various federal consulting firms, the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, and American University’s Office of Media Relations.
A recent empty-nester, Shelley serves as a Board member of the Maryland Public Health Association and enjoys spending time with her dog (a Great Pyrenees), writing, listening to music, attending contemporary craft festivals, and binge-watching shows and movies on Netflix and Amazon.
