KDH Research & Communication launched the CHW Virtual Academy to widely share the online professional development courses we develop with funding from the National Institutes of Health and other organizations. KDHRC is a woman-owned small business that is passionate about translating strong science into programs that really work.
Program Development
KDHRC takes a CHW-focused approach in our program development process:

Draft courses go through a 3-step process before their finalization:
- Step one: All course materials are critically reviewed by an independent panel of content experts to ensure the content is timely, accurate, and correct.
- Step two: Master CHWs review the course materials to ensure their real-life usability, applicability, and usefulness.
- Step three: A community field test evaluates the course’s impact and capacity for behavior change.
Course materials are iteratively revised and improved through every step before any course is finalized for CHW use.
Your time is valuable, so we commit to providing high quality, high value, and high impact training programs that will help you truly make a difference in your community.
Every course on the Virtual Academy is:
- Health disparity focused: Addresses the health issues that greatly impact your community
- Evidence-based: Infused with best practices and tested for positive impact
- Created by experts: Built with input from fellow CHWs and content specialists
- Interactive: Video and practice simulations build your knowledge and skills quickly and enjoyably.
Plus – our courses are high-value with straightforward pricing. Pay a one-time-fee for full access to course content, supplemental materials, and practice activities.
