Kristen D. Holtz, Ph.D.,
President and CEO
Kristen Holtz founded KDHRC in 2006 to provide the research and communication fields with a flexible, responsive partner to address social issues in the areas of public health, education and human service provision.
Dr. Holtz received her doctorate in developmental psychology from George Washington University. She has published her research in academic journals and presented at professional meetings in the United States and abroad.
Dr. Holtz's areas of expertise include:
- Social marketing for youth audiences
- Child mental health, particularly as it relates to social acceptance of children with differences
- Substance abuse prevention and science education, particularly curriculum development and evaluation
- Health promotion/disease prevention, particularly for low-literacy audiences
Overall, her work explores optimal methods to present health information in ways that the target audience can learn and benefit from it. To this end, she has developed and disseminated a variety of evidence-based products for lay audiences, including parents, children and teachers.
